Five years in the making, Leeds Indie Food Festival has established a national reputation for Leeds and its independent food and drink establishments. With praise heaped on the city from national titles such as Guardian, Lonely Planet, Daily Mail, Observer and Independent, and critics hailing the city as the food capital of the North, here at Leeds Indie Food we have set our sights on a bold new future for food and drink Leeds.

This is our gift to the city. A platform for your creative experimentation playing out in venues across the city we welcome ideas from all corners of the culinary map. If you’re a venue and want to host an event during Leeds Indie Food Festival keep your peepers peeled for the annual call for events.

We have had a break on this since 2019 and looking for a new opportunity to bring this back.

Our annual collaboration with Leeds’ very own North Brewing Co sees the Summer weeks filled with food, beer, music and chilled out party vibes come rain or shine. Family-friendly, pet-friendly and just all round welcoming Eat North rolls up the shutters of North Brew Co’s Leeds brewery, and fills up the car park with the smell of food glorious food. From themed event such as Seafood North and Christmas North to the summer staples, Eat North offers a range of street food traders the chance to fill up the hungry bellies of more than 6,000 happy customers per event. If you fancy being a trader or a volunteer at this year’s programme of Eat North events send Simon an email from the link below. Please include photos, menu samples and social media contacts as all events are curated to ensure quality and variety.

Launched in 2018 Chow Down is a unique food, drink and cultural concept that works with small towns and cities to highlight and programme their most iconic venues and celebrate their heritage. A laid-back, family-friendly blend of street food, art, culture and music, Chow Down ran a summer programme in Halifax’s historic Peace Hall and brings life to the ancient walls of Lincoln Castle.

In 2020 Chow Down moved to Leeds top create Leeds’ biggest outdoor drink and dining venue and currently sites at Temple Arches on Globe Road.

Known for our creative approach to events and an enviable little black book of traders, venues, breweries and producers we are often approached to support existing events, develop new concepts or curate the food and drink offer for a myriad of events and venues. If you’re looking for a way to bring a little something extra to your events or you’re a trader, producer or supplier looking for new opportunities get in touch with us to discuss options for how we can support you, your business and your events. We have worked with clients in urban and rural settings from the leafy grounds of National Trust’s Fountains Abbey to the pop-up takeover of an urban car park for Leeds 2023’s Big Send Off celebration. Throughout the year we work with volunteers on a range of opportunities from event staff for Chow Down, Chow Down Presents…, and Eat North to social media content producers, writers, photographers and more across the 18 day Leeds Indie Food Festival.
